Tuesday Movie Nights – Watch free classic movies with free popcorn. If you’re hungry or brought a date, they have a deal for $29 that includes a 3 course meal (appetizer, main course and dessert) and a bottle of wine.

Wednesday – All you can eat crab legs for $19.95 includes pasta, soup, fries and salad.

Saturday and Sunday – Full brunch with 2 drinks for $13.95

Okay, this one is a neighborhood staple – so instead of giving us something new to eat, this post is going to serve as a little reminder: for big fluffy bready-goodness. Brooklyn Bagel (two locations in Astoria : Broadway and 35th, Ditmars and 35th) does not exist in Brooklyn. Why? Who knows; their website doesn’t say. They have, however, opened up shop in Chelsea for anyone who wants to go into a carb coma at the office)

Everyone who has ever been to Brooklyn Bagel around brunch time on the weekends knows that it can turn into an absolute mess – what with waiting in the line, placing an order, casually waiting off to the side with a million other people while you wait for your order, and then sneaking back up the front of the line to pay, and then crossing your fingers that your friend managed to snag a table. But, it’s all worth it. They are seriously the best bagels, EVER.

A guy in my office used to bring in bagels every Friday, the kind that were definitely made last week and could have definitely been used to construct a house. As an election day treat we got them from Brooklyn Bagel. Presented with a superior product that people gobbled down, the guy stopped bringing in Pathmark bagels.

A complete breakfast (bagel, egg, cheese and coffee) will run you around $3. Oh and if you dont feel like a whole bagel, dont forget that they have mini versions too!

When You Feel Like Something Sweet

Every once in a while I get a craving for chocolate cake: the kind that I can’t be bothered to make myself. Sometimes instant gratification is so much better. And for that, there is Martha’s Country Bakery (on the corner of Ditmars and 37^th).

The cupcakes are pretty standard in terms of cupcake standards, but they earn huge bonus points for being in the neighborhood. At $2 each you can choose from the usual flavors (choc-van, choc-choc) and also some unusual ones (black forest, Oreo, raspberry, and pistachio). If you feel like taking your time consuming all that sugar there are a couple of tables and a cute little coffee bar space to relax at.
